On the Scene Reports
The 2007 St. Andrew El Salvador Mission
Arrival Day: Oct. 19th, 2007

Our journey began at SFO International Terminal with a 2 hour wait for our 1:20AM (Yes, AM!) departure.

We arrived at Agape safely and with all of our luggage! Half of our luggage, which included school materials, curriculum workbooks, and clothes, was flagged for standby but we were glad to see them arrive on our same flight.

After a very short nap and a quick dip in the pool we headed for Buenos Aires. We arrived in the early afternoon and started off by fording the creek in a 4x4 Ambulance as transportation provided by Agape -- No team members were injured in the process.

Our first stop in the village was to visit the site of the 2005 mission trip project.

In the middle of this photo you can see the preliminary work that has been done on this years project. As you can see the new classroom building will sit across from the original 2002 mission trip school and next to the classroom building built by World Vision Canada earlier this year.

This years mission team was welcomed and honor by a ceremony of students teachers and community leaders.

Students danced in celebration of the arrival of this years St. Andrew team and honored the accomplishments of previous teams.

Dave Haflich and Gary Stein examine the current project site progress with future project helpers.

Cathy Collier and other returning team members were mobbed by "old" friends.
