On the Scene Reports
The 2007 St. Andrew El Salvador Mission
Day 4: Oct. 22nd, 2007

Unfortunately we did not have any internet last night so we are one day behind on our updates. The flower/plant pictured above is a "Gineo" plant which produces small bananas and the beautiful flower you see in the photo.

One of the major projects for Day 4 was to try and resolve some of the drainage problems that are happening at and around the school. Cathy Collier and Kitty Brenek lead a team of young girls who did a fantastic job.

Our major challenge this week continues to be the accessibility of our work site. As you can see from the photo above the road up to the village has suffered significant damage from the torrential rains that have been falling since last week. Today we had to carry a large quantity of wood up to the school by hand and tomorrow we expect to be carrying the block for our building up the same way.
Helpers of all different sizes have been turning out and this little guy helped take wheelbarrow loads all day long.
