SESSION
Comprised of the Pastor and Elders, the Session is the spiritual and governing body of St. Andrew. Elders are elected by the congregation and ordained to this ministry, serving three-year terms.
Together, the Session is entrusted with discerning God’s call for our church and providing faithful leadership for its worship, mission, ministry, and life together. Elders carry both responsibility and authority: they make decisions, establish policy, provide oversight, and care for the spiritual well-being of the congregation.
At its heart, serving as an Elder is a spiritual calling. Elders are asked to listen deeply—to God and to the congregation—and to lead with wisdom, compassion, courage, and faith, helping St. Andrew discern not only what we should do, but who God is calling us to be.
The Session generally meets once a month on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:00 pm. Meetings are open to congregants and minutes are available from the church office.

DEACONS
Deacons are called to a ministry of compassion, care, and service. Elected by the congregation and ordained to this ministry, they have a particular responsibility to care for those who are sick, grieving, lonely, struggling, or in need—both within our congregation and beyond it.
At the heart of the Deacon’s calling is the practice of paying attention: to the lives of people, to the needs of our community, and to the places where God is already at work. Deacons ask where care is needed, where compassion can make a difference, and how they might come alongside what God is doing.
Through their presence and service, our Deacons help make the love of God tangible—reminding us that we belong to one another and that no one should have to walk through life alone.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE
Every year, the congregation elects a new class of Elders and Deacons to serve the church. The Nominating Committee is instrumental in this work, identifying potential officers and proposing a slate of candidates at the Annual Congregational Meeting each spring. Although they are not officers of the church, Nominating Committee members are elected by the congregation and serve one-year terms.

The Green Team
St. Andrew is certified by PCUSA as an Earth Care Congregation. St Andrew formed a Green Team in 2019 with this mission: We are stewards of God's Earth. We are dedicated to protection and restoration of the environment, and to advocate for and exemplify sustainable practices. The Green Team is at work throughout the year cleaning our environment, educating our congregation, and building community around environmental causes.
