There seems to be no end to bad news about the state of our environment, but there is good news too. This bi-weekly Environmental Moment will highlight some good news and offer tips on how you can help reduce waste, energy, and use of plastics. May this instill hope for our future.
Good News: Renewable energy tops coal in the US for the first time since 1885!
Green Tip #12: Your used paper napkins can be put in the green yard waste bin, but just like paper towels, it takes a lot of water, wood, and energy to produce paper napkins from the raw materials and then into your home, not to mention the single use plastic used to wrap them. Consider substituting cloth napkins which can be washed and used over and over again. The added bonus: every meal feels special!
