Green Tip #2:First a Clarification: ‘compostable’ and ‘biodegradable’ bags cannot be put into your green bin. So what’s the advantage of compostable over plastic garbage bags? 1) compostables are made from plant based products not petrochemicals, so fewer chemicals will pollute the environment, 2) they fully break down and do not produce “micro plastics” which is a huge environmental concern. Bottom line: reduce your waste so that you can reduce your use of bags of any kind
